Instead of 4, Aegean will offer 3 weekly flights from Athens to Zagreb, reducing the number of operation but increasing the capacity on existing flights. Instead of Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 aircraft operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, Aegean will introduce its Airbus A319 aircraft for morning flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays and Airbus A320 on mid-day flights on Mondays. Thursday service will not be operated in upcoming season.
Aegean Airlines is founded in 1987 as Aegean Aviation. It operates 52 Airbus aircraft (A319, A320 and A321) to 94 destinations. It has placed on order additional 43 Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft. In 2013 it has acquired Olympic Air that operates regional flights with 2 ATRs and 10 Bombardier Dash aircraft to 31 destination. In Croatia Aegean operates services to Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split. Recently, Aegean has submitted a non-binding bid for the acquisition of Croatia Airlines.
