CROATIA AIRLINES CANCELS INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS FROM ADRIATIC AIRPORTS

Croatia Airlines (OU), flag carrier of Croatia, will cancel its international flights from and to Adriatic airports (Rijeka, Split and Dubrovnik) for the time being, due to the pandemics of COVID-19.  Photo 1. VOLOTEA TO INTRODUCE NEW ROUTES TO SPLIT

Volotea (V7), Spanish low cost airline, will be introducing the new flights from Split to Athens and Bari. With new routes, and the cancelation of flights to Bergamo, Volotea will serve Split Airport from 10 destinations across Europe. Flights from Nantes and Toulouse will be upgraded from 2 to 3 weekly during the peak tourist season. Flights will be operated by the combination of Boeing 717 and Airbus 319 aircraft.  Photo 1. Service will run between April 19 and November 4 and will be operated by Boeing 717 aircraft. Service will run each Wednesday and Sunday.  New service to Bari will be operate once a week, each Wednesday. LUFTHANSA TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS ZAGREB FLIGHTS

Lufthansa (LH), flag carrier of Germany and member of Star Alliance, will temporarily suspend flights between Frankfurt and Zagreb due to COVID-19 pandemics. Lufthansa has operated 14 weekly flights (double daily) between Frankfurt International and Zagreb International airports. Due to the pandemics of COVID-19 during the week between March 8 and March 14, Lufthansa has cut service from 14 to 2 weekly flights. Between March 15 and March 28, service will be suspended due to the pandemics of COVID-19 that provoked lack of demand for international flights.  Lufthansa has cancelled around 28.000 flights from both hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. BRITISH DOWNGRADES ZAGREB FLIGHTS IN MARCH 2020

British Airways (BA), flag carrier of United Kingdom and member of IAG and Oneworld alliance, has announced downgrade of service between London Heathrow and Zagreb following the impact of COVID-19.  Photo 1. British Airways Airbus A320. Source: Flickr . Under Creative Commons license. British Airways is currently operating 8 weekly flights between London Heathrow and Zagreb Airport. During the week between March 16 and March 22, service will be downgraded to 5 weekly, operating every day except Thursday and Sunday. The following week, service will be downgraded to 4 rotations operating on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.  From Sunday March 29th airline starts operating its summer schedule flights to Zagreb. During summer flight schedule, British will be increasing service to Zagreb from 8 to 11 weekly flights. At the moment of publishing this entry, British Airways did not make any changes to its summer flight schedule.  BA competitor on this route, Croatia Air

NORWEGIAN 2020: SPLIT FLIGHT SCHEDULE CHANGES

Norwegian Air Shuttle (DY), Norwegian budget airline and third largest low cost carrier in Europe after Ryanair and easyJet, will be returning to Split this summer with services from 9 airports, same as last year. While majority of the services will remain as frequent as in S2019, Stavanger flights will be increased from 1 to 2 weekly, Helsinki from 5 to 6 weekly, while Trondheim will be reduced from 4 to 3 weekly rotations.  Photo 1. During pre-season, service will be increased from two to three weekly rotations, running each Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. CROATIA AIRLINES TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS ROME FLIGHTS

Croatia Airlines (OU), flag carrier of the Republic of Croatia and member of Star Alliance, will be temporarily suspending its flights to Rome due to the COVID-19 epidemics.  Photo 1: Croatia Airlines Airbus A319. Due to the epidemics of COVID-19 and latest quarantine decision made by the Italian Council of Ministers, Croatia Airlines will suspend its flights between Rome Fiumicino and Zagreb effective today. Flights will be reinstated on March 31st with the beginning of summer flight schedule.  Croatia Airlines operates daily flights between Zagreb and Rome Leonardo da Vinci Airport via Split throughout 19/20 winter flight schedule. During summer, ZAG-SPU-FCO service is complemented by ZAG-DBV-FCO service. 

VOLOTEA REDUCES OPERATIONS TO PULA IN S2020

During S2019, Volotea served Pula Airport from Bordeaux and Nantes. For 2020, Volotea has reduced its operations to Pula by canceling Bordeaux service and maintaining one weekly flight from Toulouse to Pula. Apart from Pula flights reduction, Volotea will not be returning to Rijeka Airport with its seasonal service from Marseille. 

NORWEGIAN 2020: CHANGES IN DUBROVNIK SUMMER FLIGHTS

Norwegian Air Shuttle (LY), Norwegian budget airline, will be operating flights to Dubrovnik during the 2020 summer flights schedule.  While maintaining high frequency of Oslo and Stockholm routes to Dubrovnik, Norwegian has announced several changes in its schedule to and from Dubrovnik. The service from Madrid that used to operate twice weekly will not be reinstated during S2020 schedule, while services to London Gatwick and Barcelona will be downgraded from two to one weekly rotation. This year,  Norwegian will serve 9 destinations from Dubrovnik, which includes Barcelona, London Gatwick, Stavanger, Bergen, Oslo, Trondheim, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki.  Photo 1. Jet2, British low cost airline, during its 2020 summer schedule will be operating flights to Split from 6 UK destinations. This article presents the detailed overview of scheduled flights between Split and London STN, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, East Midlands Airport and Leeds Bradford Airport.  Photo 1. Thursday flights will be operated in the afternoon, departing Vienna at 14:55 and landing in Dubrovnik at 16:20 from where the return leg will take off at 16:55 and land in Vienna at 18:20. Sunday flights will be operated in the morning schedule, departing from Vienna at 06:00 and landing in Dubrovnik at 07:25. Return flight will take off from Dubrovnik at 08:00 and land in Vienna at 09:25. Flights will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.
