[STATISTICS] MAJOR CROATIAN AIRPORTS - PASSENGER FIGURES IN 01/2020

Major airports in Croatia (Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik) have welcomed 259.112 passengers through its doors during the first month of 2020.

Zagreb Airport has served 203.035 passengers in January 2020, which represents the increase of 6.19% compared to 2019. In January 2019 Zagreb Airport welcomed 191.197 pax which is less compared to January 2018 when it handled 191.276 passengers. In 2017, Airport handled 168.788 passengers. During January, no major changes were made in the timetable compared to 01/2019, except the termination of direct Seoul flights by Korean Air, and downsize of service to Dubai by FlyDubai. Flights were operated by Croatia Airlines, Trade Air, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Air Serbia, Air France, KLM, Qatar, Turkish Airlines, Aeroflot, LOT Polish Airlines, etc. Aegean Airlines continued its service to Zagreb during winter season, while Iberia and British Airways increased their services. Despite major setbacks by Korean Air and Emirates/FlyDubai, the number of passengers increase for +11.000 passengers.

Split Airport welcomed 36.739 passengers in 01/2020 which is slightly over 36.360 passengers during the same month in 2019. During the period between 2017 and 2020, around 6.000 passengers were added during January period which indicates slow progress in tackling seasonality of Split Airport operations. Split Airport was served in January by Croatia Airlines, Eurowings and Lauda. 

Dubrovnik Airport welcomed 19.338 passengers in 01/2020 which is significantly less compared to 01/2019 during which services 26.323 passengers. The figures from 01/2020 resemble those from 01/2017 when it equaled 19.329 passengers. Dubrovnik Airport was served in January by Croatia Airlines, British Airways, Vueling Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines and Turkish Airlines.
